Before becoming a nationally recognized financial advisor, a noted author, and president of Marathon Financial Strategies here in Atlanta, Mark began his career as a teacher. He taught his students not just skills they would need to make a living; he taught them how to discover what could bring them happiness, as well as success, in life. Through his work today, Mark pursues a threefold mission:

Enlighten on the important financial issues of our time

Enable greater control of money's effect on one's life

Enrich through a deeper understanding of money

Mark was named a "Five Star: Best in Client Satisfaction Wealth Manager" by Atlanta Magazine in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013.  In 2010, he was one of the first seven CFP Ambassadors appointed by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards; in this role, he supports the CFP Board’s Consumer Advocacy Program and addresses the financial issues of the American consumer through public speaking engagements and media appearances.

Mark recently published his fifth book, titled “Becoming Whealthy.” Here, Mark looks at the interconnection between health and wealth, using real life examples from not just business and medicine but areas as diverse as philosophy, literature, sports and even pop culture to show how the habits developed to support a healthy physical lifestyle can also lead to the development of behaviors that support a healthy financial lifestyle.
